Yee Hah! Thanks to your voting, I finished my Tova a coupla weeks ago now. It was an easy make, and I heartily recommend it – especially to you tunic lovers out there! I made it in Liberty of London Tana Lawn – Mitsi Green from Tessuti.
The only slightly tedious parts to sew were the corners of the inset.
Here she is, with a slightly tired looking owner!
Of course I added length as well. Probably around 8cm. I’ve worn it as a dress, and as top – versatile right?!
Now, get ready for the arty (out of focus) shot.
Here’s a close up of the collar and placket too.
I want to make this bad girl again. But sleeveless, and without the collar. Maybe with some pretty buttons down the placket too
Do you reckon it would work?
PS – to those of you in the US affected by Sandy – stay safe and well. We’re thinking of you here in Aus. xx

Lovely! I haven’t tried this pattern yet. Maybe it is time.
Thanks Leith! You should, it’s a good one
Really lovely job Ms Zo!
Why thank you BusyLizzy! I do love a tunic
I must try one of these Wiksten patterns one day soon… so many things to sew!!
Gorgeous fabric and tunic! I think it would look great with a button placket.
Thank you! I’ll just have to remember to add some interfacing the the placket so it doesn’t flop about with the weight of the buttons
)
I have the pattern and the same fabric…. So if you see another Mitsi Green Tova walking around the streets of Melbourne (or more likely, in Tessuti!) it’s me!
What wonderful taste in patterns and fabric you have
I’ll keep my eyes peeled for you in Tessuti!
Oh, I love it! What fabulous fabric, and a great garment. <3 <3 <3
Oooh thank you!
Beautiful! I really like it as a dress, I’m really into the dress and tights layering thing for winter so I think I might have to try it out after seeing your lovely version!
Thank you! You should definitely give it a go
Way cute! Love this color!
Aww shucks.
Oooooh Nice fabric!!
She’s pretty
When I put it all together, at first I thought I looked like a bouquet exploded on me, but more used to it now. I think a cream lace/pintuck detail on the inset would be nice to break it up a bit.
Such a cute little dress. I like how you lengthened it to make a dress:) Making it sleeveless and without the collar sounds like a good alteration
Thanks Fickle Sense! Another summer project I think
I love this! And may I say rad styling with the tights and heels. This looks good for the crazy Melbourne weather. Trans-seasonal win!
Thank you, thank you! Far out weather is totally crazy atm! 34 yesterday, 18 today… keeps us on our toes and rotating our wardrobes at least
The colours of that liberty are divine on you – esp with the lippy. Looking lovely, and I’m totally eye-balling that gorgeous placket!
Total winner! Excellently styled with those gorgeous shoes and tights!
